Fuel spills during refueling are more common than many boaters realize. When a tank is topped off, fuel can bubble back up and discharge through the vent on the side of the boat. That overflow can run down the hull and into oceans, lakes, rivers, and marinas.
FuelCATCH was designed to help solve that problem in a simple, practical way. The device fits over the exterior fuel vent and catches fuel overflow before it reaches the hull or water. When fuel begins to collect, you know it is time to stop filling. Once the tank settles, the collected fuel can be poured back into the fuel fill and returned to the tank.
The original concept was introduced as the Davis No-Spill Fuel Recovery System, also known as the “No Spill.” Although that product is no longer in production, FuelCATCH continues the legacy of helping boaters protect their hulls, reduce waste, and keep fuel out of our waterways.
Product Evolution
1. Wider, replaceable suction cups
FuelCATCH now features suction cups that are set wider apart for a more secure fit over the fuel vent. If the suction cups become worn or damaged, they can be replaced by sliding new ones into place.
FuelCATCH also includes a built-in clip, making it easy to tie the device to the fuel pump, boat rail, or another secure point while refueling.
2. Built-in spill protection
The inside collar of FuelCATCH is raised to help keep collected fuel contained during removal. If the bottle is tipped while fuel is inside, the raised collar helps reduce the chance of fuel spilling back out.
This fuel vent cover is designed to create a strong seal against the boat’s hull, helping protect both the gelcoat and the surrounding water from fuel overflow.
3. Covers for all openings
FuelCATCH includes covers for both the top and back openings of the bottle. After the collected fuel is emptied, the bottle can be sealed to help prevent leftover drops from leaking during storage.
